$15 bn worth new issues to hit mkt

150 companies are expected to raise USD 15 billion in 2007. Out of this, ICICI Bank and DLF are expected to raise USD 7 billion. However, in the past six months, interest rates for borrowing to invest in IPOs have risen by over 3% to a total 13% per annum.

FMPs – Lucrative than Bank FDs

Fixed Maturity Plans – FMPs are essentially close-ended income schemes with a fixed maturity date and the portfolio is generally invested in debt and money market instruments.

FMPs come with a maturity period of one month up to two years or more.
