963386_52326955.jpgCNBC-TV18’s Stocks Editor, Udayan Mukherjee caught up with ace investor and market expert Rakesh Jhunjhunwala in a special series called ‘Hunt for the Bottom’.

Jhunjhunwala feels that the markets have seen a bull-run since April 2003 and one cannot have a bull market without corrections. He feels that this is going to be one of the deepest and the longest corrections that we are going to have, in what he believes is going to be a very long bull market.

Short Selling, Lending & Borrowing to be operational from April 21, 2008

Highlights of the Scheme :

All classes of investors would be allowed to short sell
Institutions would have to disclose whether it is a short selling or normal trade before they trade.
Retail investors have the option to disclose their trade as short sell before the end of the day
Initially securities traded in Future & Options segment would be eligible for short selling.
Lending & Borrowing mechanism would be for a period of seven days
No STT for lending or borrowing of shares
STT & capital gain tax will be applicable for short selling of shares
